Now that he could use the armory by himself, Aion found a lot of trashy items that had been thrown away after being used for many years of battles or training. Some of them were probably decades old. Despite that, Aion didn't know if he should use them… even if they were trash, taking things that belonged to his family was a bit…

"As expected, I need to find a way to make money…" Aion thought.

In the end, Aion couldn't bring himself to take those things and use them as if he owned them. Until now, Aion had only read a few historical books, and the vast majority were based on battle tactics, but he decided to read other types in order to have some ideas of what he could do to make money. While he was looking for such books, he found one called: the tale of the gods.

"So, they have gods in this world too…" Aion rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I would guess that my powers are related to them… then again, while this world isn't completely at peace, it doesn't look like it is on the brink of destruction. Summoning people in their adult form would make things easier for battle purposes, but making people like me reincarnate, they usually would be able to make me feel more attached to this world and its people."

In any case, the book wasn't thick, and it even had some drawings in it… Aion thought that he would read the tale of the creation of that world, but things were a bit different than expected. Instead of the creation, the book told the tales of two beings that apparently ascended to godhood after they defeated a super-powerful creature that was the king of the ancient gods. They lost many friends along the way, but they succeeded in bringing peace to an era of endless conflicts caused by the ancient gods.

The book was seriously lacking in details, and the images only showed a man and a woman defeating some monsters and then something like a giant human. It also mentioned that once the ancient gods were defeated, the number of super-powerful beings decreased. Apparently, their influence made people get stronger and mutate pretty often.

"At least show the friends that died along the way…" Aion thought. "Wait, if their influence made people mutate often, why do some beings still mutate nowadays? Is it because of the two gods?"

The book didn't mention that or what the gods did after they brought peace to the world, but it was implied that they had disappeared. That was a bit weird… they either died, and the people of that time didn't want to pass such a tale to the future, or they went to hide somewhere else. Either way, at least it was an interesting tale… the new gods weren't omnipotent, and it didn't look like they obtained the power of the ancient gods, so perhaps Aion wasn't related to them.

"Back to the real problem: money," Aion thought. "We are a family of military officers, so making money by making business will probably make people frown… it seems that my only option is to go to that dungeon, but that only will help me use Processing and Absorption.

Unfortunately, Aion couldn't count on his mother to make some commercial connections since she was essentially a war prisoner. Moreover, finding someone willing to do business with a five-year-old boy would be hard.

Aion recalled the Bard class and then thought that he could use it to make some coins, but he would need one hell of a disguise. He felt that it would be fine for him to make money using those skills, but that probably would make things troublesome for him and his mother if he were to be found out.

"This is too much of a pain in the ass…" Aion thought.

"What is wrong, Aion?" Georges asked. "Your movements are sloppy today."

Aion was surprised that Georges asked that. It was the first time that he asked anything that wasn't related to training or combat, after all. Still, Aion wondered if he should share his troubles with a eight years old kid. However, that was a chance for his relationship with his brothers to improve.

"I want money, and I am thinking about how to earn it," Aion replied.

"You can ask father," Georges said. "He always gives us some when we ask to buy things like armor and stuff."

Aion never saw that; then again, his brothers almost always would leave on weekends, and sometimes they would return with some boxes. In any case, despite his awkwardness, Lexus looked to be the type who spoils his children by giving them whatever they want.

"He isn't here now, and I would rather earn money by myself," Aion said.

"Why would you choose the most difficult way to do that?" Georges asked while frowning. "You can read and write, right? I can give you some gold coins if you tell me your secret."

Aion recalled that Georges sometimes looked troubled and annoyed during the training sessions. Apparently, everyone's mothers were teaching them etiquette and how to read and write… He wondered why their father didn't hire someone, but it looked to be some kind of custom.

In any case, Aion wondered if he should fall as low as taking money from his brother to help him…
